Year 2021 – the first half of 2022

The year 2021 and the first half of 2022 formed a very successful period for Edita Prima in many ways, despite the exceptional market situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the shortage of printing paper.

Our annual revenue reached double-digit growth for the second consecutive year. The favorable topline development materialized as improved gross margin and operating profit.

The growth was driven strongly by recent new assignments in transactional print. In addition to this, we signed new client contracts covering digital services especially in customer communication management, election services and digital asset management.

We have put great effort into meeting the growing market demand for utilizing data in understanding customer behavior and to thereby provide better customer experience. In 2021, we launched new services with a focus on customer journeys. Our solutions provide analysis of customer journeys to enable multiple ways to act upon the data, even in real time. Based on the feedback from the market, the interest in and need for customer journey orchestration is clearly starting to grow.

During the reporting period, we continued to strengthen our cultural change. We measured quarterly the engagement of our people with pulse surveys. In the beginning of 2022, we conducted a more in-depth personnel survey called Our Voice. Based on the results, our people are more willing to recommend our company as an employer, leadership was evaluated with good ratings, and people felt that our customer-centricity was also improved. The overall numeric rating for employee satisfaction was 4.0 out of 5.0. Our talent acquisition focuses on strengthening our competences, especially in digital offerings.

As the importance of information security is constantly increasing, we started to implement an Information Security Management System in the spring of 2021. The system was taken into use in our daily business operations at the beginning of 2022 and the aim is to get the system certified as ISO27001 compliant.

Edita Prima has been a climate-neutral company since 2010. Our target is to continuously lower our environmental impacts. In order to decrease energy consumption, we made renewals in the waste paper processing system as well as in the ventilation system of the production facility in 2021. The annual environment report and the specific climate report were published in the spring of 2022.

The conditions in the paper market started to change in the beginning of 2021. The demand of printing papers started to grow rapidly as a post-covid phenomenon and paper industry faced suddenly capacity problems. This has led into unforeseen high price increases together with long delivery times and even shortage of printing papers. In order to ensure Edita Prima ́s deliveries we have clearly increased the volume of our own stock. The growing material prices have also affected Edita Prima ́s prices during the reporting
period.
